About EJ

About: 

EJ Crocker (they/them) is a performer and guitar / ukulele teacher from Denver, CO. In 9 years of performing around the South Sound, EJ’s work has run the gamut: classic to contemporary jazz; Brazilian sambas and choros; acoustic folk to Chicago blues; indie-rock to hip-hop and rap. A firm believer in the power of listening, EJ takes pride in feeling at home on any stage–and in sharing those skills with their students.

 

Outside of EJ’s work as a performer and a private instructor, they are are a Master Teaching Artist at local arts non-profit Tacoma Arts Live. For the last 5 years, they have led and written curricula for ‘ukulele after-school programs, taught arts and wellness courses for adults and seniors, and developed music-based social-emotional learning activities for classroom use. In those five years of elementary ed experience, they have also developed strategies and approaches for working with young students across the autism/ADHD spectrum.
