Threocracy

Tacoma organ trio Threocracy is an unruly hybrid--a bubbling ferment of sounds and styles running the gamut from gritty church blues to modern jazz. The product of 2 years of creative exploration and several lifetimes' worth of misbehavior, the band consists of Elliott Turner (B3 organ); EJ Crocker (guitar); and Brady McCowan (drums); all three of whom work as music teachers and performers across the South Sound.

Sweet Marilyn

Sweet Marilyn, an indie rock band from Tacoma, Washington, delivers a dynamic, emotionally charged sound.  Led by Jade Monroe’s crystalline vocals and poignant lyrics, their music creates vivid, personal landscapes. With EJ Crocker’s powerful guitar, Elliott Turner’s driving bass, and Brady McCowan’s dynamic drumming, their sound is a journey through varied terrain. Sweet Marilyn’s debut album is set for release in October 2024.

American Musics Series

Presented by Senior University at Franke Tobey Jones Senior Center

The once-monthly American Musics Series, presented on the fourth Friday of every month (mostly) is a combination performance-and-lecture series. The goal? To center ‘peripheral’ histories of American musics across genres and time periods, and bring together an audience of all ages to listen and enjoy top quality music, free-of-charge. This series showcases a different band and style of music every month.
